Bogues' against-all-odds journey to becoming the shortest player to ever play in the NBA started in Baltimore's Lafayette housing projects where crime and violence were all around. After dealing with various forms of adversity, Bogues dedicated his life to basketball at just 12 years old and embarked on an incredible and inspiring career.
By high school, Bogues' dreams were starting to take shape as he would help lead Dunbar High School, with four future NBA players, to a 59-0 record. Later, he would be named a First-Team All-ACC player at Wake Forest before being drafted No. 12 overall in the 1987 NBA Draft by the now Washington Wizards. Bogues spent 14 years in the NBA, becoming a fan favorite with the expansion Charlotte Hornets, and helping lead the franchise to the NBA Playoffs alongside Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning and Dell Curry. Along with Bogues, NBA TV's retrospective includes interviews with a wide range of former teammates and contemporaries, including Johnson, Mourning, Curry, Shaquille O'Neal, David Robinson, Tim Hardaway, Reggie Williams and Kenny Smith.
